artist's statement

My work is influenced by the object, given to me or found. The evocative object allows for a transference into self-reflection prompting personal imagery. The result is a convergence of observation, direct experience, and the expressive power of the materials.

Cradled panels and paper support charcoal, pencil, paint, transferred charcoal drawings, and wax. The layered surfaces veil, obscure, and suggest what is not present.
